Terri Barrett was not born in Texas, but she got here as fast as she could! As she was growing up, Terri’s family moved nearly every year, giving her the opportunity to learn about different cultures within the United States. When she was 7 years old, she advised her father that she was going to live in Texas when she grew up and marry a rich oil man. She has resided in Texas since 1981 and in Carrollton since 1988. And alas, she ended up marrying for love, instead of money.
Terri earned her Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Alabama and her MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. She was employed by American Airlines, Sabre, EDS, and HP for over 20 years. During this time, she successfully implemented large, cross-functional programs, such as theoneworld marketing alliance and electronic ticketing, and she managed the programme management office for the US Airways / America West merger. Terri brings extensive marketing, management, analysis, and IT experience to her position of Director of Missions and Outreach.
Terri has been married to the love of her life, Steve, since 1988. They enjoyed traveling across the globe and learning about other cultures, tasting new foods, and watching sunsets in many different countries. They also served as foster parents for many years. Terri and Steve have welcomed into their family two wonderful daughters whom they love very much. Terri has been a member of Aldersgate UMC for several years.
