Why is the new logo Green?

In the last couple of months, we have had a few people ask about our New Logo: Why is it Green? What does it mean? Are we not aligning with the United Methodist Church?
In November of 2019 Aldersgate UMC affirmed the vision team’s work and unveiled our new mission and vision statement:
As a United Methodist Church our Big Mission is to Maker disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World, therefore Aldersgate United Methodist Church is committed to positively impacting lives and our community through Jesus Christ.
It is our vision that as we are accomplishing our mission, Aldersgate will be a community where everyone is welcomed, loved, respected and valued. We strive to grow spiritually by sharing our gifts and talents, serving others to reflect God’s Grace.
In December, Aldersgate UMC engaged with a design team to create new brand and website presence for our church. As part of that work, we wanted a new logo for the church. Something that captures our mission and vision as well as the new phase of ministry we are embarking on. New life, New growth spiritually and physically, the importance of our Giving Garden and Food Share ministries.
We have not replaced the Traditional UMC cross and flame, we just created a new logo. We strived to honor our tradition of the cross and flames and align with the mission and ministry of who God is calling us to be at Aldersgate UMC. Just like many other UMC churches in North Texas and across the country. Here are just a few examples:

Again, our vision and leadership teams are excited about this new season to live into our called ministry at Aldersgate UMC to positively impact lives for Jesus Christ. Thank you for being part of our Life Giving Ministry at Aldersgate Carrollton!
