Angel Tree

Aldersgate is teaming up with CCA to help make this Christmas brighter and merrier for children this year! CCA has interviewed and selected families in need in the past few weeks and months and is coordinating with area churches to help ensure the children of these families enjoy a wonderful Christmas. Aldersgate has chosen to participate and volunteers are asked to provide Christmas presents for these children.

Who receives our gifts?  Our gifts will be delivered to Christian Community Action (CCA) just as AUMC has done in past years.  CCA hosts a Santa Workshop where parents or guardians “shop” for gifts for their children.  This year, CCA will distribute presents to 2,000 children!

When does it begin?  Monday, November 1st

Why so early?  This allows time for you to shop for that special gift and also time for CCA to distribute the presents to the parents or guardians so that they can be wrapped before Christmas!

What gifts does CCA want?  That’s the easy part because CCA has organized everything!  Here are two ways you can buy a gift for a child:

  1. Browse the CCA Amazon Wish List. When a gift is purchased from this list, it is automatically delivered to CCA. Here’s the link: https://smile.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/LFN37HV27R1Y?ref_=wl_fv_le

  2. Select a “Wish Ornament” from the AUMC Angel Tree, purchase the gift, and return it (unwrapped) under the tree by Thursday, December 2nd. (The last Sunday to deliver gifts to our Angel Tree will be November 28th.)

Why do gifts need to be unwrapped?  CCA also distributes Christmas gift wrap so that parents or guardians can enjoy seeing and wrapping their children’s gifts.  When you think of it, that’s half the fun!

How many gifts does AUMC need to provide?  Aldersgate signed up for 75, but no worries if we collect less or more as gifts will be distributed equitably to all children.
