Don’t Go In There

It’s Holy Week. And if this story were a movie, we’d all be yelling at the screen, just like Kate Bowler said in her newsletter:  “Don’t go in there!”

But Jesus walks in anyway.

He walks into betrayal. Into unjust arrest. Into the noise of a crowd ready to cheer one day and crucify the next. He walks in… fully knowing.

And somehow, we walk in too.

We walk in with schedules packed so tightly it feels like something’s about to snap. We walk in carrying questions that have been lingering for years. We walk in with kids to wrangle, family tensions to navigate, and maybe more grief than we care to admit. And still, Jesus meets us here.

Not just at the table where the bread is broken. Not just in the silence of Saturday. But in the middle of the noise, the stress, the unraveling…

Jesus stays. And love doesn’t flinch.

So if you’re not sure you’re “spiritual enough” for Holy Week this year...Or you’re behind on the devotional or barely making it to worship... Or your prayers feel more like sighs or sarcasm lately... Well the good news is: There is still room for you in this story.

Jesus walks in. And for some reason, he still calls us friends.

Do you need a place to sit with the story?

Then join us:

  • Tonight’s Maundy Thursday service is at 7 p.m. as we gather around the table.

  • Good Friday at 7 p.m. as we stand in the shadow of the cross.

  •  Easter morning—at 9 and 11 a.m. ready to hold onto hope again.

No pressure. No perfect attendance required. Just come when you can and sit in the story with us.

We’d love to see you!

With Gratitude,

Rodney
